The Royal Exeter Hotel stands on Exeter Road in Bournemouth in a 19th century building enhanced by castellated towers and attractively decorated gables, originally built as a home by Captain Lewis Tregonwell in 1812 and once visited by Elizabeth of Prussia in 1888. The hotel has 47 individually decorated en suite bedrooms, two modern bars and leisure facilities. It is about 200 metres from the beach and the town centre and 20 metres from the Bournemouth International Centre. Bars include the 1812 lounge and bar and Bar SO, and there is an on-site car park open to guests and non-residents.
