Samaritans is a charity that prevents suicide through the power of human connection, connecting people in crisis with trained volunteers who will always listen, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Some Samaritans branches run charity shops selling pre-loved items to raise critical funds for the charity. It also runs support groups for people bereaved by suicide, policy and research work, media guidelines for journalists reporting suicide and self-harm, and corporate partnerships.
