Wareham Town Museum occupies the Town Hall on East Street in Wareham and tells the story of the town and the Purbeck area from prehistory to the present day. Its collections span local archaeology, history and geology, including prehistoric and local fossils, Iron Age material, Roman discoveries, Saxon coins, Kimmeridge Woman, the Durotriges, Sandford Pottery and local industry, and the museum is home to the T. E. Lawrence collection covering Lawrence of Arabia and his connections to Wareham. Exhibitions, displays, events, talks and community activities run through the year.
