Listing terms
These apply if you claim a listing or buy a paid one. They are in addition to our terms of use and privacy policy. Last updated 1 September 2026 — version 1.0.
1. Who these terms are for
windowshoppers.uk is operated by Momently Ltd, company number 17280873, registered office 201 Broadway Lane, Bournemouth, BH8 0AD. Contact hello@windowshoppers.uk.
You are entering into these terms as a business, not as a consumer.
2. Claiming a listing
When you claim a listing you confirm that:
- you are authorised to act for that business — you own it, or you have the owner’s permission;
- the information you give us is accurate;
- you will keep it up to date, or tell us to remove it.
We verify claims. Until a claim is verified, the listing is marked as claimed but unverified and you cannot edit it. We verify by sending a code to a contact point already recorded for the business — an email address, a phone number, an email at the business’s own web domain, or a letter to the business address.
Claiming a listing does not transfer ownership of it to you. It gives you the right to manage what appears on it, on these terms.
If you claim a listing you are not entitled to claim, we will remove the claim, and we may close your account. Where someone has claimed a listing wrongly, the genuine owner should contact us at hello@windowshoppers.uk and we will resolve it in their favour on reasonable evidence.
3. Your content, and your responsibility for it
Content you add — descriptions, photographs, opening hours, announcements, owner biographies, links — is your content. You confirm that, for everything you give us:
- it is accurate and not misleading;
- you own it or have the right to publish it, including any photographs and any people shown in them;
- it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trade marks, privacy or other rights;
- it is not defamatory, offensive, discriminatory or unlawful;
- any claim you make about accreditations, certifications or safety registrations — such as Gas Safe, an electrical competent person scheme, OFTEC, or professional membership — is true and current, and you will remove it the moment it stops being true;
- any price, offer or guarantee you publish is one you will honour;
- your content complies with advertising rules, including the CAP Code, and with consumer protection law.
You are responsible for your content and you agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, or cost (including reasonable legal costs) arising from it, or from your breach of these terms.
You keep ownership of your content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and adapt it for the purpose of publishing and promoting your listing, and to keep showing it for as long as the listing is published. If you remove content or close your listing, that licence ends, apart from copies kept in routine backups.
Content we compile, and content you supply
We show clearly which facts came from us and which came from you, with sources and dates. That split is deliberate: we are responsible for what we compile, and you are responsible for what you supply. If we have compiled something about your business that is wrong, tell us and we will fix it — that is our responsibility, not yours.
4. Moderation
We may review, edit or remove any content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or remove a listing. Where we do, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right, unless the content is unlawful or the problem is serious enough to need immediate removal. We may also remove content in response to a complaint from a third party; if that happens to your content we will tell you and you can respond.
5. Paid listings
Tiers and prices
Paid listings are sold in tiers: The Display at £10 a month or £100 a year, and The Shopfront at £30 a month or £300 a year. What each tier includes is set out on our pricing page, which forms part of these terms.
Momently Ltd is not currently VAT registered, so the price shown is the price you pay. If that changes, prices and this clause will be updated and existing subscribers will be told before any change takes effect.
Payment
Payments are taken by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. By subscribing you authorise us to take the agreed amount each month or year, depending on the plan you chose, until you cancel.
Renewal and cancellation
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. We will email you before each renewal.
You can cancel at any time from your account or by emailing hello@windowshoppers.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — your listing keeps its tier until then. We do not give partial refunds for the remainder of a period, except where section 6 applies or where the law requires it.
If a payment fails we will retry and let you know. If it remains unpaid, the listing reverts to a free listing; it is not deleted.
Changes to price
We may change prices. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before a change affects you, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
The Founding Window
The founding offer is £700 for the first year, which includes a professional photography session and twelve months of The Shopfront. At the end of that year the subscription continues on The Shopfront at the standard rate then in force, currently £300 a year, unless you cancel. The founding member mark on your listing is permanent and stays after the first year.
Founding places are limited. If a founding subscription lapses, the founding rate is not reinstated.
Photography
Where photography is included in what you bought, this is how it works:
- We arrange and pay for a session at your premises at a time we agree with you, normally within 8 weeks of your first payment.
- We own the copyright in the photographs we take. We give you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use them for your own marketing — your website, your social media, print, anywhere you like — for as long as you want, including after your listing ends.
- We may use them on your listing while it is published, and to promote Windowshoppers itself.
- You are responsible for making sure we are allowed to photograph the premises, and for the consent of anyone who appears in the photographs.
- The photography is a service delivered once. Once the session has taken place, that part of what you paid is not refundable, and the ordinary cancellation terms above apply to the remainder.
- If we cannot arrange a session because you repeatedly cannot make a date, we will tell you before treating that part as fulfilled.
6. If we get it wrong
If a paid feature does not work as described for a sustained period, tell us at hello@windowshoppers.uk. We will fix it, credit you, or refund the affected period — whichever is appropriate. We would rather sort it out directly than have you out of pocket.
7. Ending the arrangement
You can remove your listing at any time by emailing us. We may end these terms and remove a listing if you seriously or repeatedly break them, if you claim a listing you are not entitled to, or if we stop operating the directory. If we remove a paid listing for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of what you have paid. If we stop operating the directory we will give reasonable notice and refund unused subscription periods.
8. Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise:
- We do not guarantee any particular level of traffic, enquiries, sales, or search engine ranking from your listing. A directory listing is advertising, not a promise of results.
- We are not liable for business losses — loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or anticipated savings.
- Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the total amount you paid us in that period.
9. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The version number and date at the top identify which version you accepted, and we record the version you accepted when you claim or subscribe. If we make a material change we will email you at least 30 days beforehand, and you may cancel if you do not accept it.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
