Prama is a family of charities caring for people in Dorset, founded in 1982 to support older adults. It began by providing domiciliary care and now runs community-based activities including group support for people with dementia and for carers, and one-to-one support for carers and for older adults who have become lonely, with the aim of preventing ill health or mitigating its impact so that people can live as long as possible in their own homes and communities. The charity also runs charity shops, takes donated items and recruits volunteers.
