Poole Harbour Commissioners is the harbour authority for Poole Harbour, described as Europe's largest natural harbour, and operates the Port of Poole. Its commercial activities cover cruise, ferries, conventional cargo, superyachts, pilotage, towage, berths, vessel hire, car parking and room hire, and it publishes a port tariff and a small commercial craft registry. On the leisure side it runs marinas, moorings, harbour dues, permits and byelaws, the Poole VTS vessel traffic service, shipping movements, the bridge schedule, tide and weather information and local notices to mariners.
