Buckler's Hard

Buckler's Hard is an 18th century shipbuilding village and museum on the banks of the Beaulieu River in the heart of the New Forest, where ships for Nelson's Navy were built and whose history reaches back to the 13th century when the land was owned by Cistercian monks. Visitors can see the museum and reconstructed cottage displays, the Shipwright's Cottage, the Shipwright Workshop and St Mary's Chapel, take a river cruise, stop for an afternoon tea or pub lunch and browse the gift shop. Education and school visits, group visits and tours, and rallies are catered for.
